HBC Service expands the management team

HBC Service is repositioning itself for the future by adding industry expert Thomas Segers to its top management team, who will help shape the services of the future at HBC Service as COO starting in February 2023.

From large corporation to digital and sustainable medium-sized company

Thomas Segers has been working in the service sector for 30 years and has been responsible for soft facility management in various positions at large corporations. In a wide variety of functions, he has worked both on the service provider side for large companies in the cleaning sector and was responsible for managing service providers in corporate groups.

Most recently, he was Head of Soft FM Germany at one of the largest multi-service providers and, prior to that, spent a total of eight years at thyssenkrupp, where he was responsible for managing service providers both in Germany and worldwide. Thomas is now moving from the large corporation to the digital and sustainably positioned medium-sized company HBC Service. His experience and knowledge from both sides of the industry, as a client and contractor, are an ideal prerequisite for his new role as COO at HBC Service: In his decades-long professional career, Thomas has acquired extensive knowledge of what services customers expect from a service provider.

"We are delighted that with Thomas we have been able to attract an accomplished industry expert to HBC Service who, with his extensive industry knowledge and years of expertise, can take our company to the next level and apply his knowledge specifically to the development of tomorrow's workplace services for our customers," emphasizes Stephan Teichmann, CEO HBC Service.

From digital cleaning to the development of workplace service tools

The development of innovations as well as the design of sustainable processes in companies characterize Thomas' approach. His goals for his new job range from the development of new Workplace Service Tools, the design of tomorrow's Workplace Management, the use of Robotics (part Robotics) to sustainable business processes both in terms of environmental awareness and the further training of the company's own employees. In addition, Thomas focuses on advising clients on Workplace Management as well as sustainability initiatives.

Vision for the future

With Thomas Segers, HBC Service wants to help shape customers' New Work thinking, i.e. enable even more flexibility in services for customers so that the company can meet individual customer requirements even better. This is made possible, among other things, by optimized digitization, i.e. by so-called digital cleaning, which supports customers even more sustainably.

Thomas' vision is to use HBC Service to provide individual advice to users of workplace services, i.e., companies and their employees on how to organize their workplaces, and to implement the jointly developed new solutions directly as a service provider. In addition, as a further development, it is planned to digitally manage the processes around the workplace of the future and to support customers' employees in place management, i.e. at their workplace, through even better digital tools that create an even higher quality of service.

"My vision for HBC Service is to develop an even more digital and even more sustainable company. This goes hand in hand with increasing market awareness and shaping the HBC name, which stands for sustainability, quality and innovation," explains Thomas.
